I usually buy this type of brush-head for my rechargeable Braun Oral-B toothbrush. It claims a 'flossing action' which I can't really verify, but after I use it my teeth and gums feel very clean. It's perfect for what you need and your toothbrush unit (depending on which you have) should be able to tell you when the brush-head needs to be replaced.

It's a little expensive (especially if you've got a family sharing a unit), but it does exactly what you expect of it.
