I'v been a long time user of Oral-B line of electric toothbrushes and now it's time to update the gear. Selecting between high-end models of Oral B, Philips and Omron was rather easy: the sleek and light Omron 456 looked like iPod compared to other MP3 players. We obviously have a new generation toothbrushes entered the market.

Out-of-the box experience was fine. Compact charging unit looks nice and sleek, on par with our modern bathroom. You need to charge for 14 hours before the first use though. But then - wow. In 3 minutes my teeth were squeaky clean!

Pros:
- sleek, modern design
- technology is highly effective for cleaning
- excellent three-way brush included in package
- 3 useful modes: standard swing, wide swing for polishing and massaging, narrow swing for cleaning between teeth
- 3 min automatic turn-off
- simple: no complicating but useless features
- travel brush included in retail package

Cons:
- would prefer pointy brush head (optional accessory) instead of soft brush head as included in retail package
- online support. I have one technical question about charging and it is not addressed in the user manual. I visited the omron.com european site with no results; it's like whole toothbrush product line does not exist there. Philips and its internet presence for consumers is definitely a benchmark here.

By now I have used the product for one week. I would give it a 5 star if not the lack of technical information and support on internet.

By the way - current Amazon description of this product model Omron 456 is wrong. The features: 5 speed options and 30 sec timer belong to the model 458.
